BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 42-year-old Boynton Beach man in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in Deerfield Beach back in May.

Roscoe Shannon was taken into custody on Tuesday and is now facing charges of vehicular homicide and reckless driving. The incident took place in the early morning hours of May 16, within the 100 block of Powerline Road.

According to authorities, Shannon was traveling northbound on North Powerline Road in a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado truck when he lost control of the vehicle. Tragically, a 2012 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the Chevrolet veered into the southbound lanes and collided with the motorcycle.

Disturbingly, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue officials. Due to the restrictions imposed by Marsy’s Law, the victim’s identity has been withheld from public disclosure, as confirmed by Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Miranda Grossman.
