Fatal Collision: Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Volusia County Car Crash

A fatal two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Tuesday in Volusia County, Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol has reported this tragic incident. The crash occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 92 and Old Daytona Road in DeLand, where the victim met an untimely demise.

Based on an initial investigation, the collision involved a Mercedes sedan driven by a 79-year-old resident of DeLand and a Honda motorcycle operated by a 58-year-old resident of Daytona Beach. Regrettably, the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene, while the elderly driver of the Mercedes remained unharmed and cooperated with authorities on-site.

Authorities from the Florida Highway Patrol have redirected their efforts to the westbound lanes of International Speedway Boulevard, which have been temporarily closed as traffic homicide investigators meticulously study the accident.
