Family of slain San Antonio construction worker believes he was killed for money

She said his boss and colleagues made a disturbing discovery.

SAN ANTONIO. The murder of a San Antonio construction worker remains unsolved.

The family of Jesus “Jesse” Solis believes he was killed for money. Solis was found shot to death in his pickup truck at a construction site three years ago.

His sister Olivia Solis told KENS 5 that she is not losing hope.

“What happened to him is unfair,” she said.

Olivia still remembers January 13, 2020.

“What do you mean he was shot,” she said. “He was shot right here on the cheek.”

She said his boss and colleagues made a disturbing discovery.

“I thought he was sleeping,” she said. “Because it was so dark and foggy. They thought he was asleep until they got closer, they realized what had happened.”

The San Antonio police said that Jesse, who worked at the construction site, was killed. Investigators speculate that robbery may have been the motive.

Olivia said people knew her brother would always carry large amounts of cash with him.

“He’ll cash his check and he’ll have his money,” she said. “He worked hard, worked 12 hours a day. It makes me very sad that someone went out of their way to kill my brother for his money. The money he earned by working.”

Police said that just two days before the murder, Jesse had just started work at a construction site near Eisenhower Road and Silent Dawn.

“I believe that one day I will get justice,” she said.

Olivia believes her brother knew his killer. She said it was someone close to her brother or someone who knew him very well. Olivia doesn’t believe it was an accident.

In this case, Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $5,000.
