In the meantime, an online fundraiser for a scholarship in Rebecca’s name was launched.

“Despite the circumstances of her death, she is remembered for the life she cherished—a life of compassion, generosity, faith and fierce love for her family,” wrote her sister Sarah Reilly.

“She left behind three young children and a whole community that loved her more than anything. Becky has always envisioned herself working in the medical profession, so it’s no surprise that she chose a career as a nurse – her true calling – where she could care for and comfort people on a daily basis,” she added.
