Express Weddings on Valentine’s Day: An Easy and Cheap Way to Say Yes

The Harris County Clerk’s Office and the Heritage Society will issue marriage licenses to couples who marry on Tuesday. at historic sites in Sam Houston Park.

HOUSTON — If you and your loved one want to get married on Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, the Harris County Clerk’s Office can help you get it done and save money!

HCCO is teaming up with the Heritage Society to offer express weddings at one of the historic sites at Sam Houston Park in downtown Houston.

They are waiving the 72 hour waiting period so couples can get licensed and get married on the same day!

HCCO will be located in the Heritage Society building at 1100 Bagby St. 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to issue a marriage certificate for a fee of $74.00.

You can also go to the downtown HCCO office at 201 Caroline St. to get your license where you will get a free photo.

Marriage license requirements

A valid ID is required.
Valid proof of residence in Texas
Without proof of in-state residence on a valid ID from at least one applicant, the fee will be $174.

Wedding Venues at Sam Houston Park

You can choose from several historic sites at Sam Houston Park, which have both indoor and outdoor areas that offer “breathtaking views of the skyline.”

On the territory there are majestic oak trees, large manicured lawns, colorful gardens and much more.

The wedding ceremony will take place from 10:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday.
