Experienced San Diego Chef to Open Manna Atelier in Encinitas

Ahead of the opening of his restaurant and bar, Chick & Hawk, in collaboration with skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, chef Andrew Bachelier is launching a contemporary atelier and pop-up cafe in San Diego’s North County.

In 2021, we reported that longtime San Diego chef Andrew Bachelier announced that he would be opening a new restaurant in partnership with the world’s most famous skateboarder, Tony “Birdman” Hawk. Chef Bachelier was previously involved in the opening of the Campfire and Jeune et Jolie restaurants in Karlovy Vary before parting ways with the company in the summer of 2020. Called a fast food restaurant and bar, Chick & Hawk was originally supposed to open in San Diego’s Encinitas Community last summer, but due to delays, the diner is slated to open in mid-2023.

Everything sold out on Sunday, but there were a few left for Saturday. We really appreciate your support! hatch, we’re taking over a temporary location on coast 101 called Manna Leucadia. These picnics are just a preview of what’s in store for Manna. A test kitchen that will allow our chefs to have creative fun and become whole through their self-expression. I hope you will enjoy!”

Manna Atelier is currently selling a $195 Valentine Tote that includes carefully selected picnic essentials and merchandise selected by Chef Bachelier. Specifically, the large bag includes homemade crackers; roasted carrot hummus with chili oil, green onions and smoked almonds; pickled and organic canned mussels; endive salad with Hidden Rose apple, capers, mint and orange vinegar; ham, burrata, sandwich with grated black truffle, arugula and cheese conte on ciabatta bread; a bar of dark chocolate and Deux Cranes strawberries; Roen Candles Amber Collection, Domaine Brazilier ‘Méthode Trad’ sparkling rosé; Dried micro-bouquet of native poppy; Stationary state Roasting coffee beans; and a custom-made Manna Eco-Hemp heavy-duty tote bag. Once Manna is up and running, it will serve as a chef pop-up location and test kitchen for local chefs and culinary masters.
