Essay, art competitions celebrating Williamson County’s 175th Anniversary are open to students.

Williamson County turns 175 this year.

To celebrate the occasion, the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation, as a sponsor of Williamson County’s 175th Anniversary Celebration, along with the County and the Williamson Museum, host competitions for students.

Competitions are open to all students attending a public, private, or home school in Williamson County.

essay contest

11th and 12th grade students can enter an essay competition about what they think Williamson County will be like in the next 175 years.

The essay should be between 700 and 900 words. The deadline for students is 15 February.

One winner will be selected from each district and will receive a $1,500 scholarship. One grand prize winner will receive $2,500.

art competition

Students in grades 3 through 10 can enter an art competition to design an 8.5″ x 11″ poster for Williamson County to represent the county’s 175th anniversary.

The deadline for students is March 20.

One winner from each district in grades 3 through 5 will receive $100 plus a $150 top prize. One winner from grades 6-8 in each district will receive $150 and the top prize will be $200. One winner from grades 9-10 in each district will receive $250 and the top prize will be $300.
