Error in W-2 forms affects 2,500 CUNY and SUNY employees

A government error means about 2,500 CUNY and SUNY employees received the wrong W-2 forms they need to file their tax return.

The State Inspectorate did not add a new column to the form regarding the pension contribution.

“Our office discovered that there was an error and we contacted SUNY and CUNY immediately so they can inform employees,” controller spokesman Thomas DiNapoli said.

The outage affected about 500 employees of the City University of New York and 2,000 employees of the State University of New York.

DiNapoli’s office said workers should receive the new uniforms around March 6th.
