Engelbert Humperdinck sells LA lair for $4.05M

He definitely didn’t sell this Los Angeles home for a song.

British balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck, 86, has parted ways with his Mediterranean-style spread in Bel-Air for $4.05 million in a deal that closed on Friday, The Post has learned.

The property hit the market in May for a higher $6.2 million asking price. Humperdinck, born Arnold Dorsey, purchased it for $2.99 million in 2005 via an LLC linked to his birth name.

David Kessler of Coldwell Banker Realty, who shared the listing with Allisun Sturges of FrontGate Real Estate, told The Post the home had “multiple” offers and that it was a 30-day escrow — meaning, in New York terms, the home was in contract for 30 days.

The new owner is local business person who already lives in Bel-Air and “loves the location of the home at the top of Bel Air Road and the beautiful views of Bel Air Canyon,” Kessler added. It also looks out to the downtown LA skyline.

At the time of listing the 5,602-square-foot home, Humperdinck and his family — who also spend their time at a home in Leicester, England — wanted to move to Beverly Hills.

The home dates to the 1990s and opens to a double-height foyer. A dazzling stained glass ceiling hovers over the kitchen — and is big enough to fit a breakfast area and a center island. It stands four levels, and has five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The master suite comes with a fireplace — and fireplaces also adorn the living room and bar/den. For other perks, there’s a movie theater, a wine cellar, a gym and a sauna — all located on the lower levels.

Outside, there’s a heated pool and spa, and the property also includes an apartment with one bedroom and one bathroom.
