Electricity outage in Richardson leads to critical water shortage

Some residents of Richardson are being asked to stop using water except in emergencies after severe storms caused power outages at two water pumping stations.

The city wants all residents living west of US 75 to stop using water after the backup power to its North and West Side water pumping stations is cut.

Richardson warns that it will run out of water unless the customer stops using it immediately.

The city asked Onkor to restore power as soon as possible.
