Dueling fires break out in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Florida. The Matlatch and Pine Island Fire Department was sent to put out the outer fire in St. James City. The crews were able to quickly localize the fire and protect the surrounding areas and facilities.

Authorities determined that the fire was caused by a demolished trailer. During the fighting, the crews were sent to another fire.

With the assistance of the Cape Corals Fire Department, it was determined that illegal arson was the cause of the second fire. It was quickly contained and extinguished before any injuries could be inflicted.
