Donald Trump pardons Kodak Black so it can fly to commercial property

Former President Donald Trump has pardoned Kodak Black, née Dewson Octave, and he can now venture into commercial real estate.

The 25-year-old rapper purchased a nearly 1-acre lot in Pompano Beach, Florida for $1.8 million, according to Real Deal.

Located at 1511-1547 Hammondville Road, the facility consists of two one-story commercial buildings built in the 1950s, nearly 3,800 square feet and 4,900 square feet.

Apex Capital Realty’s Danilo Aquino, who represented the seller in the deal, told the publication that the singer is considering refurbishing one building and demolishing the other to build a new retail building.

Meanwhile, Beachfront Realty’s Kayla Maman, who represents Kodak Black, added that her client plans to turn the property into a “luxury retail space” with a restaurant.

The artist turned real estate investor grew up in a nearby affordable housing complex called Golden Acres.

“He has a lot of connections to this community,” Aquino said.

In the past few years, Pompano Beach has seen an influx in real estate development.

Meanwhile, Kodak Black had several run-ins with the law. The charges include robbery, battery, false imprisonment of a child, criminal sexual conduct, possession of a firearm, and possession of cannabis.

In early 2021, Trump pardoned Kodak Black on gun possession charges. His sentence was set two months later, on March 24 of the same year, and the court considered the possibility of imprisonment for a term of 2 to 7 years.

Last July, he was arrested again for alleged possession of oxycodone pills.
