DeSantis to Hold News Conference at FAU’s Jupiter Campus: WATCH LIVE at 10:45 a.m.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida announced plans to hold a news conference on Wednesday morning at Florida Atlantic University’s MacArthur Campus in Jupiter, joined by secretaries Jason Weida at the Agency for Health Care Administration and Michelle Branham of the Florida Department of Elder Affairs. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. and ClickOrlando.com will stream it live at the top of this story, after being delayed by an hour from its original start time of 9:30 a.m.

This gathering follows a series of high-profile news conferences held by DeSantis earlier this week. On Monday, he visited Brevard County to sign three bills, one that allows the death penalty for those who commit sexual offences against children under 12, and another to eliminate the consideration of Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) standards from government investment plans, procurements, and bond issuances.

Meanwhile, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board filed a lawsuit against Disney in state court, as well as defending themselves against the lawsuit filed by Disney against the board alleging constitutional rights violations over former CEO Robert Chapek’s criticism of the Parental Rights in Education Act. The lawsuits allege a targeted campaign of government retaliation orchestrated by DeSantis and the board.
