Desantis speaks out on the migration crisis

(WSVN) — Governor Ron DeSantis has spoken out about the migrant crisis at the border in South Florida.

He criticized President Joe Biden and told how he himself is trying to help.

“Essentially, Biden is leaving the Coast Guard to its own devices,” the governor said in an interview. “He doesn’t send any more ships or support. They are not enough to intercept all the boats that try to enter primarily from Cuba, but also from Haiti. So, what are we doing with our assets, we’re out there in the Strait of Florida, using intelligence. Reporting to the Coast Guard. When there are boats, we stop them, and then these people are taken away by the Coast Guard.”

DeSantis activated the state National Guard to provide support to local authorities.

The governor said that the number of ships in the water is decreasing.
