Deputies say barricaded armed man arrested after standoff in Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, Florida. — An armed lunatic who barricaded himself in a Palm Coast home was arrested after a standoff on Saturday, MPs said.

According to a press release, the deputies responded at 17:00 to the Mily Court in connection with a domestic complaint and a complaint about weapons.

Deputies said the woman reported a man in the house who had a gun and fired a firearm at least once in the house.

According to the publication, the woman was able to safely leave the house.

The deputies were able to see the man inside the house with a gun in his hand and said he was refusing to obey them, causing the special forces and the crisis negotiation team to react.

According to the report, the neighbors were asked to take shelter in place as negotiations continued.

Deputies said the man eventually left the house, but when he disobeyed orders, he was hit with a “non-lethal defensive weapon” and taken into custody without injury.

The man, later identified as Juan Nodarce, was arrested, charged with shooting at an occupied dwelling, and placed in Sheriff Perry Hall’s Detention Center, deputies said.

“Great job by our deputies, negotiators and the SWAT team to de-escalate and ensure that this volatile and dangerous situation ends safely and no one gets hurt,” Sheriff Rick Staley said.
