Creole food festival returns with female chef lineup

NORTH MIAMI BEACH “Food is a window into cultural diversity that helps shape our experiences and identities. Annual Creole food festival continues the experience by showcasing a stellar line-up of Creole chefs, cuisines and drinks from the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America, South America and South America on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Ancient Spanish Monastery, 16711 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida , from 15:00 to 20:00.

Creole food festival returns with female chef lineup

“The Creole Food Festival was created as a platform to showcase the talents of black and brown chefs. Since the culinary industry is dominated by men and whites, we intentionally showcased female chefs of color. In 2021, only 22.8% of chefs and head chefs were women, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. We want to showcase the multicultural salad that Miami has to offer, celebrating what brings us together through food,” says co-founder Fabrice Armand.

Famous chefs

Founded in 2018 in New York City by Fabrice Armand and Elcaïr Balla, the Creole Food Festival uses culinary excellence as a unifying thread that will include new ideas from renowned chefs:

  • Grace Ramirez (Venezuela) – Ambassador Zacapa Rum worldwide

  • Iris Johnson (New Orleans) – Food Network Sliced Champion

  • Cynthia Verna aka Chief Tia (Haiti) – Winner of the “Chef’s Embassy” competition
