Councilman Chi Osse criticizes NYPD for sending cops overseas to fight terrorism

This far-left city council member may need a history lesson on 9/11.

Councilman Chi Osse (D-Brooklyn) left the Twitter sphere scratching his head after openly asking why the NYPD sent cops to other countries – apparently not realizing or ignoring that they were abroad to prevent terrorist threats to the Big Apple.

“Why does the local police department have outposts in 16 other cities besides New York?” he tweeted Wednesday. “Each of these outposts/stations/whatever they are needs to be gutted and shut down.”

The 24-year-old rookie council member who supports NYPD budget cuts and was elected to the post in 2021 after gaining notoriety as an organizer of the Black Lives Matters movement also showed a global map from a 2018 New York Times article with indicating the places where the cops are “embedded”. It included properties in Los Angeles and Washington DC, as well as 14 cities outside the US such as London, Paris, Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi.
