Community holds ransom event in support of 2 food vendors in San Jose attacked

Businesses, food vendors, musicians and influencers gathered Sunday for a vendor buyout event in San Jose.

The public was invited for food, music and support for two food vendors who were attacked in separate incidents earlier this month.

Sol Reconco was beaten by a customer after he refused to give him a free hot dog outside of the SAP Center.

Police said two days later that Carlos Sanchez was attacked by an auto parts owner, Intex, on the Old Bayshore Highway.

The organizers want the two men to recover.

“And most importantly, street vendors don’t have days off,” said Edin Alex Enamorado, one of the organizers of the event. “I think they deserve a little financial stability and community support so they can get a few days off and work through the trauma they just went through.”

The ransom was held at the same location where Sanchez was attacked.

The suspect has been charged with multiple charges. While the police are still looking for a suspect in the first attack.
