Cold weather ahead, cold front brings winds to Central Florida

A cold front broke into Central Florida today and quickly lowered temperatures, bringing rain to most areas.

But today the front is moving south and taking all the rain with it. The wind will blow from the north at a speed of 10-15 m/s with gusts up to 20 m/s.

It will be cold in the interior. Look for bottoming lows from the low 50s inland to the upper 50s along the coast.

Saturday will be a mostly dry day with high pressure. The pressure gradient in our area is narrowing, causing the winds to become fresher inland and blow along the coast.

Sporadic showers possible, mostly near Flagler and Volusia counties. Look for a maximum of 71 in Orlando.

Sunday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers as warm air blows in from the south. The maximum in Orlando will be 75. The chance of rain is 40%.

Back at work on Monday, expect the weather to be mostly dry and warm into the 70s. By Wednesday, our highs will be back in the 80s. The chance of rain will return by Thursday.
