Cocoa Man Killed, Passenger Seriously Injured in Brevard County Ditch Crash, FHP Reports

BREWARD COUNTY, Florida. A 30-year-old Cocoa man was killed and his passenger was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash early Saturday in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 1:55 a.m. on Pine Street and Coconut Avenue, the military said.

According to the crash report, while the driver was driving the pickup truck southbound on Pine Street, the military believes he missed a curve and veered off the road to the right, flying into the air and crashing into a ditch.

According to police, the man died at the scene.

His passenger, another 30-year-old man from Cacao, was hospitalized with serious injuries; the report said he was the only passenger in the pickup who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

FHP is still investigating.
