ORLANDO, Florida. – Close couples in Orlando mourn the loss following a devastating earthquake that killed more than 20,000 people in Turkey and Syria.

Alex Hernandez said that his friend Alex Ilgin recently moved to Florida. After Ilgin’s wedding last year, friends said that having a baby was the main goal of Ilgin and his wife.

“This week we received a call from his family and were told that he was indeed in the building on the third floor,” Hernandez said. “Apparently they were held by their hands in bed, and also his mother passed.”

Hernandez said he started working with Ilgin in real estate, adding that Ilgin worked as a mortgage broker.

“He planned to also buy a house this year with his new wife. He just switched to Dr. Phillips, less than six months ago,” Hernandez said.

The group plans to hold a memorial service for Ilgin on March 4th.
