Channelview ISD school delays start time after body found on driveway in eastern Harris County, HCSO reports
HOUSTON — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found on a driveway near Channelview ISD Elementary School in eastern Harris County Thursday, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
HCSO units were called to Wallisville and Rancho Paloma. When the deputies arrived, they found the body on the roadway.
According to Gonzalez, it looks like the person was unharmed in the car crash. According to Gonzalez, the body may have been thrown from the car.
Investigators are not sure if there is a link to a nearby incident where a car was stolen. Gonzalez said that in this incident, the suspect’s car was followed by a homeowner, followed by a shootout.
The scene investigation takes place in front of ISD Channelview Harvey Brown Elementary School. The school is postponing classes until 10:15.
