Cedar Park man missing; suspect apprehended by Round Rock police
ROUND ROCK, Texas – Round Rock authorities are currently engaged in a search operation for a missing Cedar Park resident who recently became the victim of an aggravated assault, creating an atmosphere of concern and urgency within the community.
On Friday, law enforcement officers promptly responded to a distress call, indicating the presence of a suspicious vehicle within the confines of a Walmart parking lot, specifically located at 4700 E. Palm Valley Blvd. The officers swiftly took charge of the situation, focusing their attention on the vehicle that was ultimately identified as belonging to Shawn Joseph, a 30-year-old individual from Cedar Park, who is currently missing.
Upon closer examination, investigators have ascertained that Joseph suffered a gunshot wound late Thursday evening, in the very parking lot where his vehicle was discovered. Disturbingly, it appears that the assailant forcibly removed him from the scene, leaving his whereabouts unknown, and plunging loved ones and authorities alike into a state of heightened anxiety. However, in a small victory for justice, the suspect responsible for this heinous act, identified as 31-year-old Royce Loggins, has been apprehended and is presently in the custody of the Round Rock Police Department.
Presently, Loggins is being held at the North Richland Hills Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Williamson County, where the jurisdiction of this case lies. Authorities have emphasized that this incident appears to be isolated in nature, with both the suspect and the victim being personally acquainted.
