Bruce Willis’ wife begs photographers to leave husband alone after dementia diagnosis

Emma Heming Willis has a photographers request when it comes to husband Bruce Willis and his newly announced diagnosis of dementia.

After Bruce’s recent run-in with the paparazzi, Emma took to Instagram to share a video to draw attention to what’s appropriate from these photographers in the future.

In the video, Emma said, “If you are someone who cares about someone with dementia you know how hard and stressful it can be to get someone out into the world and just get them safely through, even just for a cup of coffee.”

She mentioned a paparazzi video that was circulated of Bruce drinking coffee with friends, noting that those friends “strongly defended him” and then seemed to get emotional and stop filming.

After the cut in the video, she continued “In the spirit of raising awareness about dementia … it’s clear there’s still a lot to learn, which is why we’re reaching out to photographers and videographers who are trying to get across these ‘exclusives’ of my husband.”

“Just keep your seat,” she pleaded. “I know it’s your job, but maybe just keep your seat. As for the video, please don’t yell at my husband, don’t ask me how he’s doing, “woo-woo” and “yuppies.” – Hooray, please don’t do this, okay?

She again asked that Bruce be given a seat, and the paparazzi would allow him and everyone with him to “get him safely from point A to point B.”

In the caption to the video, Emma asked, “To other caregivers or dementia care professionals who travel this world…. Any tips or advice on how to safely take your loved ones out into the world?”

Emma’s sincere request came just weeks after Bruce’s family announced he had died. diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

Emma and Bruce got married 13 years ago and have two daughters: 10-year-old Mabel and 8-year-old Evelyn.

Both branches of his family acted as a united front in helping Bruce deal with his diagnosis, in particular by signing his announcement of his condition with “Lady Willis/Moore”.
