Brooklyn thief stole $1,000 phone from FedEx worker: cops

Police said Wednesday that a Brooklyn thief stole an expensive package from a FedEx worker in broad daylight this week.

Police said an unidentified suspect ripped a package containing an iPhone 12 pro from a delivery man around 1:30 p.m. Monday in front of the Gravesend home on East 1st Street. According to police, an expensive Apple product costs about $1,000.

Although the suspect threatened to harm the 53-year-old victim during the robbery, no injuries were reported, police said.


The suspect, who is in his 20s, has a slim build and is approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, police said.

The NYPD said the male suspect was in his early 20s, with a slim build and approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall.

Police released photos of the suspect as well as surveillance footage of the suspect on the sidewalk interacting with the victim on the steps in front of the house.

The thief was last seen wearing a light green hooded sweatshirt, dark jacket and light jeans. He also wore white sneakers and a black cap.
