Brooklyn pizzeria featured in Lenny’s Pizza’s Saturday Night Fever closes after 70 years

The beloved Brooklyn pizzeria made famous by its Saturday Night Fever cameo will be serving its latest pies on Sunday.

Lenny’s Pizza, a Bensonhurst establishment, is celebrating its 70th anniversary.th This year’s anniversary will be closed forever because longtime owner Frank Giordano, 77, is retiring, his daughter Josephine Giordano announced.

“Fortunately we did really well and decided it was best to close as soon as my dad was ready,” she wrote on Facebook. “It is time for him and me to enjoy our families. We want to thank everyone who gave us the opportunity to serve them.”

In the film, Travolta’s character, Tony Manero, famously orders two slices of pizza and stacks them on top of each other while munching on them during the 86th Street parade. His photograph hung in a window display that he had ordered for decades.
