Brightline Issues Building Advisory as Treasure Coast Trials Continue

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Brightline continues to work to expand its service to Orlando, but this will result in some delays and driver closures in northern Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast.

On Monday, company officials released a building advisory saying residents can expect some delays as they continue to test and build infrastructure.

A service to Central Florida is expected to begin later this year, and it will take two hours for trains to travel from West Palm Beach to Orlando.

The following is a list of lane closures, work areas, railroad crossings and bridge work published by Brightline:

Brevard and Indian River counties

Bridges

Sebastian – River Sebastian

Bridge daytime work, including piling and demolition work, Monday through Sunday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, continues until Q1 2023 for the construction of a railway bridge on the east side of the new operating railway bridge.

Indian River County

Railroad crossings

Vero Beach – railroad crossing at Aviation Blvd. (32nd street)

Complete road closure from 07:00 on January 28 to 07:00 on February 17.

Detour Information

  • Aviation Boulevard Eastbound (32nd St.) traffic will be routed south on 43rd Ave to 20th St., east on 20th St. to 11th Ave., north on 11th Ave. to 21st Ave. th street, west on 21st street to US 1 and north. along US 1 to Aviation Boulevard (32nd Street).
  • Traffic on Aviation Parkway westbound (32nd Street) will be directed south on US 1 to 20th Street, west on 20th Street to 43rd Avenue, and north on 43rd Avenue to Aviation Parkway ( 32nd street).

Vero Beach – 8th Street/Glendale Road Railroad Crossing

Complete closure of the road until 19:00 on January 28.

Detour Information

  • Eastbound 8th Street traffic will be directed south on the Old Dixie Highway to Fourth Street, east on Fourth Street to US 1, and north on US-1 to 8th St.
  • Westbound 8th Street traffic will be directed south on US 1 to Fourth Street, west on Fourth Street to Old Dixie Highway, and north on Old Dixie Highway to Eight Street.

Saint Lucie County

Railroad crossings

Port St. Lucie – South East Walton Road

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) when trucks enter and exit Southeast Walton Rd.

Saint Lucie and Martin counties

High speed tests up to 110 mph

Daytime testing from 7:00 to 19:00 until January 30. Observers and law enforcement agencies will be present at the next level crossings, where trains will run at high speed.

Saint Lucie County

  • Walton Road.

Martin County

  • County Line Road
  • Skyline Drive (CR 722)

Railroad crossings / lane closures

Jensen Beach is Dr. Riverview.

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) when trucks enter and exit Riverview Dr.

Jensen Beach – County Line Rd.

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) when trucks enter and exit County Line Rd.

Jensen Beach – Skyline Drive

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) when trucks enter and exit County Line Rd.

Jensen Beach – Northeast Jensen Beach Boulevard

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) when trucks enter and leave NE Jensen Beach Blvd.

Jensen Beach – Northeast Dixie Highway

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) as trucks enter and exit northeast Dixie Hwi.

Stewart – Alice Street

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) as trucks enter and exit NW Alice Street.

Stuart – Northwest Fern Street

Marking operations during the day, from 7:00 to 17:00 for railway works. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) when trucks enter and leave Northwest Fern St.

Stewart – west of Dixie Highway Southeast/A1A between Decker Avenue southeast and Monterey Road southeast.

Daytime southbound shoulder closure for concrete pouring, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Stewart – A1A southbound from south of Southeast Cove Road to south of Southeast Alicia Street.

Continuous shoulder closure until Q1 2023.

Palm Beach County

Railroad crossings / lane closures.

Jupiter – Riverside Drive and Alternate A1A

Marking operations during the day from 7:00 to 17:00 to transport materials for the construction of the bridge, continuing until the first quarter of 2023. Crossings may be closed briefly (1-2 minutes) when trucks enter and exit the right-of-way.

Bridges

Jupiter – Loxahatchee River

Daytime work on the bridge, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Sunday, continuing until Q1 2023 for bridge construction.
