The lifeless body of a 25-year-old man who tragically drowned at Boerne Lake on Sunday afternoon has been recovered, according to officials. The Boerne Fire Department Water Rescue Team successfully located the victim’s remains at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, with invaluable assistance provided by the Texas Game Wardens.
The deceased individual has been identified as a 25-year-old Afghani refugee. The City of Boerne is presently collaborating with local and federal agencies in order to promptly notify the next of kin, as stated by officials.
The initial report of a drowning incident was received just prior to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Boerne officials have categorically ruled out the involvement of alcohol in this tragic incident. As a result, Boerne City Lake is scheduled to reopen to the public at 1 p.m. on Monday.
