At approximately 6:53 a.m. on Thursday, authorities received a “check welfare” call reporting an unresponsive man on Heritage Loop Trail. The incident occurred beneath the bridge located at Dessau Rd and E Pecan St.

Upon receiving the distress call, first responders diligently engaged in lifesaving measures; however, their efforts proved unsuccessful as the man was ultimately declared deceased. As of now, law enforcement officials assure the public that no indication of foul play has been detected, and no immediate threats to public safety exist in connection with this incident.

To facilitate the ongoing investigation, a portion of Heritage Loop Trail situated below the Dessau Rd and E Pecan St bridge has been temporarily closed. This measure has been implemented to ensure the necessary examination of the crime scene.

Unfortunately, an anticipated reopening date for the closed section has not yet been determined. Authorities remain hesitant to provide an estimated timeframe for the resumption of normal activities, as the investigation necessitates a comprehensive and meticulous analysis of all evidence present.
