Big apartment fire in North Austin, Red Cross helps residents

The Red Cross assists residents after a major fire at an apartment complex in North Austin.

Travis County Emergency Number 2 arrived shortly before 7:00 pm on February 20 and found fire through the roof of Morgan’s Wells Branch Boulevard apartments.

According to firefighters, a total of 8 apartments were damaged.

Fortunately, everyone arrived in time, there were no casualties.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Travis County Fire Department.

Fire officials say it’s an old complex that doesn’t have sprinklers.

Travis County ESD #2 reminds everyone to make sure they have a working smoke alarm, know the 2 exits from the house, and if you live in an apartment, don’t smoke or cook on the balcony.
