BART terminates Transbay service due to track damage in Oakland

BART officials on Friday morning reported major system-wide delays and a lack of transportation services as crews repair tracks in central Oakland.

At 5:43 a.m. Friday, officials reported that there are currently no BART services on the red and green lines.

By 7 a.m. officials reported that limited service had been restored as follows: Red, Yellow and Orange lines were fully restored, the Blue line would run from Dublin to Bay Fair and from Daly City to MacArthur; Green line trains will be canceled until repairs are completed (take the orange line).

Officials have previously reported that BART is temporarily suspending transbike operations due to emergency track repairs.

Officials are advising passengers to look for alternative transportation if they need to cross the San Francisco Bay.

Officials said AC Transit provides bus service to San Francisco on the NL bus from 19th Street and Broadway in Oakland.

Crews were repairing a damaged section of the third rail at an underground section in downtown Auckland.

BART has not released information on when track repairs will be completed or when normal service will resume.
