Authorities ask for help from the public to stop car thefts

SAN DIEGO (CUSI) — Authorities on Tuesday asked the public for help to identify and locate two suspects involved in a series of vehicle thefts in San Diego County.

Since October 2021, two suspects — a man and a woman — have attacked cars parked at large events such as funerals and youth sporting events, authorities said.

The latest reported crime involving suspects occurred in Santee last month, authorities said.

Suspects break into cars and rob them in search of valuables, including credit cards. In one case, the suspects purchased over $8,000 worth of goods using a stolen credit card.

The man was 40-50 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a strong build and goatee. According to the police, he has tattoos on the entire length of his sleeve, tattoos on his arms and on his neck.

On several occasions, the man was seen wearing a black and white striped hoodie and dark trousers with black and white Adidas tennis shoes, authorities said.

A woman in her 30s and 40s, 5’6″, with a strong build and long black hair.

The suspects’ car was described as a white 2011-2014 Chevrolet Silverado with an extended cab and black veil, officials said.

Suspect #1 (above) is described as being in his 40s and 50s, 5’10” tall, with a strong build, and a goatee. He has tattoos on the entire length of his sleeve, tattoos on his arms and on his neck. On several occasions, this suspect was seen wearing a black and white striped hoodie and dark trousers with black and white Adidas tennis shoes.

Suspect #2 (below) is described as being Hispanic in her 30s and 40s, 5’6″, with a strong build and long black hair.
