Austin’s first multi-level HEB store on Lake Austin opens February 15th.

Austin, Texas – After more than three years of construction interrupted by the pandemic, Lake Austin HEB will open its doors on Wednesday, February 15th.

HEB is the largest private employer in Texas. The Lake Austin store, located at 2652 Lake Austin Boulevard, will have over 300 partners. The grocery chain is still recruiting. Jobs can be found here.

The store has True Texas BBQ, which Texas Monthly named the best BBQ chain in Texas. The hotel also has a full bar with local drinks and views of Lady Bird Lake. On the ground floor there is a cafe with tacos for breakfast and a pizzeria.

A spokesman for Johnny Mojica said it was a “completely new concept” for the network.

“We are more than just a grocery store. We have so many different concepts, different restaurants,” Mojica said. “We just really want the community to see the HEB that we see, and that’s really what HEB is about is a family environment.”

At the ribbon cutting ceremony, the network made $35,000 in donations to the Central Texas Food Bank, Tree Folks, Pop-Up Birthday, and the Austin Independent School District.
