Austin Interim City Manager Announces Key Leadership Changes

On March 1, Austin interim city manager Jesus Garza announced major leadership changes.

Assistant city manager Rey Arellano is resigning and Jacqueline Jaft, chief executive of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), has resigned.

Garza also hired new staff for his interim leadership team.

    Since taking over as interim city manager on Feb. 15, Garza has begun an organizational review that includes working with department leadership to identify areas that urgently need help prioritizing, according to the Austin City Council.
