The Greater Austin Comic-Con is back with a bang! Fans of pop culture, comics, and anime from all around the world will come together on June 24th and 25th, 2023, at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas. Since 2018, the annual convention has been entertaining and thrilling the enthusiasts of the comic book world, and last year, it attracted more than 16,500 visitors. This year, the event is all set to bring a whole lot more excitement, with an even larger setup as Greater Austin Comic-Con’s experienced team brings even more for you to see and do.

Exciting activities and events await you. Whether you are coming with your friends or family, there is something for everyone, so join in the fun and meet your favorite celebrities or discover the voice behind your favorite anime. Get involved in our board and video game free play with E-Sport competitions. Increase your comic book collection, snag some amazing merchandise, discover original works from one of our 225 vendors, or simply enjoy the diversity of our community and find your people at Greater Austin Comic-Con.

This year, Greater Austin Comic-Con welcomes some big names in the celebrity world, including James Hong, the Legendary Godfather of Asian cinema. Recognized for his incredible career with over more than 700 credits, James Hong has starred in several popular movies, such as “Blade Runner” and “Chinatown,” and, more recently, he has also worked on “Kung Fu Panda” and “Mulan,” as well as the award-winning film “Everything Everywhere, All at Once.” The convention is also honored to welcome George Takei, a grammy-nominated recording artist, best-selling author, and activist who is known for his role as Hikaru Sulu in “Star Trek.”

But that’s not all – there’s more! With Tim Mattheson, the voice of Johnny Quest, Otter from “National Lampoon’s Animal House,” and John Hoynes in the “West Wing,” as well as sports legends, including the Dallas Cowboys’ Davey O’Brien Award winner QB Vince Young and Dat Nguyen, there’s something to keep everyone entertained.

Fans of the Thundercats will be delighted to hear that the voices of their childhood, Larry Kenney, Peter Newman, and Lynne Lipton, will be present, while “Naruto” devotees can meet Maile Flanagan, Tom Gibis, and Brian Donovan alongside other guests starring in Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and My Hero Academia.

Get hands-on with the incredible illustrators and explore the magical worlds that these artists have brought to life. Featuring a long and diverse list of credits to their names, visitors can expect to meet illustrators like Cully Hamner, David Marquez, Scott Harben, and DC’s own David Baron, as well as artist Guy Gilchrist, best known for creating “The Muppets” comic strip and “The Muppet Babies.”

At Greater Austin Comic-Con, one of the key highlights is the spectacular cosplay by talented enthusiasts. This year, we are happy to host a juried cosplay competition, featuring notable cosplayers such as SillyThig Cosplay, Silverback Props, Taffeta Darling, Lauren Ray Cosplay, Christina Dark, and Spencer Doe, among others. From funny to fantastic, visitors can expect to see the incredible and compete with their own cosplay.

There are plenty of other exciting events and activities planned during the convention. Join us at Pinballz Lake Creek on June 23rd, 2023, from 6-10pm for our pre-party and for our celebrity James Hong hosted talent show 7-9pm. Our free after-party on Saturday, June 24th, from 7pm-11pm at Pinballz Lake Creek, will include tournament fighter games at 8pm and karaoke at 9pm.
