So, is it up to law enforcement or property management? According to Soldier Steve, you must first assess your surroundings.

“When it comes to enforcing the law, traffic rules or anything like that, they don’t apply to private property,” he said. “So if you own, say, a piece of land, you are there in your 4-wheel vehicle; this is your land, this is your 4-wheeler, you will not be pursued by law enforcement until you take this 4-wheeler and drive it onto a local residential road.”

As soon as you get off this road and move a lot, new rules come into effect.

“So in a community like this, management will have to enforce things like this — a homeowners association, property management, etc. — they can encourage or request the presence of law enforcement to enforce these things,” he said. “After all, if you live somewhere like that, contact your management and get out of there.”
