Artist Zoe Buckman asks for $5.49 million for a luxury apartment in Dumbo
British artist Zoe Buckman, ex-wife of Friends. actor David Schwimmer, who has a daughter together named Cleo, is listing her Brooklyn loft for sale. Dumbo’s fourth-floor condominium at 185 Plymouth Street is listed for sale for $5.49 million, up from $5.75 million asked last April.
A private keyed elevator opens directly into the apartment, which has been featured in shelter magazines including Architectural Digest. The 3,293-square-foot lot has three bedrooms (‘easily convertible’ to four or five) and 3½ bathrooms. It features original wood beams and exposed brick walls, as well as contemporary glass windows, oak floors, a living room, and an open chef’s kitchen that leads to a private deck overlooking the East River and cityscape.
The building used to be a Brillo factory from the turn of the century, which was converted into a luxury 10-unit apartment in 2014. Amenities include a gym, bike room, packing room and virtual doorman.

“The attic will always hold a special place in my heart as it’s where I’ve done my best work to date,” Backman told Gimme Shelter, adding that she’s selling because she “needs to share where I lived and where I worked.”
Buckman now lives in a “beautiful home in Bed Sty,” adding, “I doubt I’ll ever again have a studio with as much natural light as I had in Dumbo.” She is currently working on her first solo show in New York since 2019, which will take place in September at the contemporary gallery Lyles & King.
Buckman and Schwimmer married in 2010 and divorced in 2017. That same year, Buckman bought a Dumbo apartment for $4.57 million. Schwimmer still owns the East Village townhouse at 331 E. Sixth St., which he bought in 2010 for $3.9 million, according to the property documents. But he had no friends on the block when he destroyed the 1852 property, just as it was on its way to monument status.
