Arrogant bandits beat an elderly man with a gun and stole money during a robbery of a barbershop in New York: police

Police are trying to apprehend two brazen thugs who beat an elderly man with a gun this week and made off with $200 in cash and cell phones, authorities said.

The horrific episode took place Monday at 10:45 a.m. when two men entered the Bayacan barbershop on Post Avenue, near West 207th Street in Inwood, displayed firearms and announced assault, police said.

Police said the victim, who suffered a head cut, was taken to Columbia University Presbyterian Medical Center in a stable condition.

The robbers hit the 71-year-old man in the head with a pistol, took $200 and several mobile phones, and then drove away in a gray Ford Fusion, police said.

The police are looking for two men from 20 to 30 years of average build.

The robbery took place on Monday at the Bayacan barbershop.

The NYPD released surveillance photos of the suspects on Saturday. One of them was last seen wearing a union vest, a black hoodie, black trousers, black sneakers, a black mask and a gray knitted hat. His accomplice was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a black Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap.
