Armed scammers posing as Con Ed employees robbed a woman in a house in New York

Two scammers posing as Con Edison workers broke into a woman’s home in Brooklyn late Monday night and stole her television, police said.

The duo told a resident they were from a utility company when they broke into a house on Rockaway Parkway near Clarkson Avenue in Brownsville around 11:55 p.m., authorities said.

According to the police, they showed the gun, but no shots were fired.

The couple stole a television worth about $1,000 before fleeing, police said.

The woman, whose age was not immediately known, suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention, police said.

The suspects were still at large on Tuesday morning.
