Arlington High School closed briefly after police chase ended on campus

ARLINGTON, TX (CBSDFW.COM) The police chase ended when a pickup truck crashed into the campus of Arlington High School, causing it to be locked down for a short period of time.

UT Arlington employees were chasing a white pickup truck when it crashed into a sign on the edge of campus Friday afternoon, according to a statement from the Arlington Independent School District.

Arlington police assisted in the chase and ordered school authorities to lock down the campus at 12:21 p.m. Two suspects were arrested and at least one handgun was found at the scene. None of the suspects are AISD students.

At 1:00 p.m., campus security and police began to remove all students and staff from their locked areas. The lockdown was lifted at 13:51.
