Andy Dick charged with public intoxication for refusing to register as a sex offender

CALIFORNIA – Comedian Andy Dick was arrested in California on charges of public drunkenness and refusal to register as a sex offender, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Office responded around 00:30 on Friday at the 15700 block of Grand Avenue regarding a person who was intoxicated, possibly under the influence of drugs.

Officials say Dick, 67, a resident of Hemet, showed signs of intoxication. He was arrested without incident.

During a review of the records, it was determined that Dick was a registered sex offender who was unaware of his registration.

He was placed in the Kois Bird Detention Center on charges of being intoxicated in public places and failing to register as a sex offender.

The investigation is ongoing.
