An intruder who broke into his garage shot and killed a man, police said

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot in the shoulder by an intruder who broke into his garage on the northeast outskirts of the city early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the 12700 block of Sandtrap Street near Bulwerde Road around 3:53 am due to reports of shooting.

According to police, the victim, a man in his 70s, collided with the suspect in the back of his house near the garage.

The victim was taken to BAMC in stable condition to be treated for a gunshot wound.

A police officer guarding the scene says the shooting was connected to a robbery, but did not give any details.

No further information was forthcoming.
