American Airlines pilots vote to go on strike
American Airlines pilots may go on strike if the Fort Worth-based airline does not comply with their demands.
The leaders of the Allied Pilots’ Association approved a plan for a vote by members on the strike in early April.
According to APA, voting will end by the end of April.
The union and American Airlines have been negotiating a new labor agreement for 3 years.
Earlier this week, American CEO Robert Isom promised a 40 percent surcharge for pilots.
The APA said it was “cautiously optimistic” about the commitments promised by the Americans.
