After a series of delays, Texas-based Mooyah Burgers is finally opening its first location in San Diego.

After a series of delays stalled reopening plans, Texas-based Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes, which currently has more than 100 restaurants worldwide, has unveiled its first of 15 restaurants planned for San Diego County.

Founded in 2007 in Plano, Texas by Rich Hicks and Todd Istra, Mooya Burgers Fries & Shakes is now a franchise with over 100 locations in 20 US states and 9 countries in North America and the Middle East. Mooyah offers a menu based on bespoke 100% Angus beef burgers, all-natural turkey burgers and Dr. Praeger’s vegan black bean burgers served on non-GMO potato and multi-grain buns that are baked on site. daily. Other offerings include national Hebrew hot dogs, real ice cream, and hand-cut french fries that go through a 24-hour, six-step cooking process.

The first Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes location in San Diego is now open at El Camino Real in Karlovy Vary. On Saturday, March 11, the restaurant, operated by franchisee Ash El, will hold a grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony, giveaways and live music. More than 15 additional Mooyah eateries are scheduled to open in San Diego County, including several drive-thru locations.
