There were no reports of any injuries.

DALLAS. Authorities responded Thursday to reports of a possible shooting at the Dallas County Department of Health and Human Services building.

After police and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office investigated every floor of the building, Sheriff Marian Brown later confirmed that there was no evidence that the shooting took place.

The building is located at 2377 North Stemmons Freeway, near the Dallas Medical District.

In the afternoon, when the building was blocked, there were a lot of policemen in the building. It was seen how the authorities were taking people out of the building.

During a press conference, Sheriff Brown explained that a man inside the building had told family members that she believed she had heard several gunshots. These relatives then called the Dallas police about the situation, prompting a strong response.

Brown said the man reported hearing five to eight “loud bangs” but that it could be construction related. Brown said investigators were looking into what the man might have heard.

“We don’t have any indication that the building was shot at,” Brown said. “We checked the building, we inspected the building.”

There were no reports of any injuries. Authorities said no one has been taken into custody at this time.

Brown assured that she was glad that the situation was not taken lightly, regardless of the outcome.

“Because the person wasn’t sure, we’re glad she chose to err on the side of caution and call us and let us make sure, because it could very well be a situation where people were working there without knowing anything about something. threatened them in that same building,” Brown said.
