A woman is suspected of stabbing her brother in a parking lot near a gas station

OKICHOBEE COUNTY, Florida. A 59-year-old Okeechobee woman is accused of trying to kill her sister with a knife.

Kenna Leffler was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of attempted murder and is being held without bail at the Okeechobee County Jail.

The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call about a stabbing at a Texaco gas station at 4993 US 441 South.

According to the sheriff’s office, there was an argument in the car about the suspect’s excessive drinking.

Two witnesses in the car told deputies that Kenna Leffler took out a penknife and stabbed her brother or sister in the neck with a 4-inch blade.

One witness knocked the knife out of her hand and was holding Leffler as they drove the victim to the hospital and called 911.

When the group arrived at the hospital, Okeechobee City policemen were already waiting at the scene, monitoring the radio.

The knife was on the floorboard where Leffler sat.

The victim and witnesses said that the sister repeatedly made death threats to this brother and sister, but no one thought that the suspect would ever reach such a level.

The victim is expected to recover from the stab wound, the sheriff’s office said.
