A teenager shoots and kills a friend at a North Austin gas station while under the influence of drugs, APD reports.

The Austin Police Department (APD) is investigating a fatal shooting in North Austin.

Police said that around 5:20 pm on February 5, officers responded to gunfire at a Chevron gas station at 9318 I-35 North Service Road southbound.

When officers arrived, Austin-Travis County EMS and officers found Joshua Dienno, 20, and Isaac Sandoval, 19, with gunshot wounds.

Dienno died at the scene, while Sandoval died at a local hospital a few hours later, police said.

Investigators later determined that Sandoval was under the influence of drugs when he shot Dienno. Police say Sandoval committed suicide after the shooting in Dieno.

The police say they were friends.
