A suitcase on rollers takes off down the SFO runway amid strong winds

The atmospheric river on Tuesday is no joke, and travelers at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) are experiencing serious delays due to high winds.

On board the plane that landed, one passenger and a Twitter user filmed a suitcase on wheels running down the runway alone.

“Today it’s so windy in SFO, no one wants to take off, except for this bag…,” the user wrote.

The video quickly gained tens of thousands of views.

For about 30 minutes on Tuesday afternoon, aircraft in SFO were stopped due to high winds. Although the ground stop has since ended, SFO remains in the ground hold program, according to the airport.

We hope that passengers can reach their destination as quickly as this suitcase, which ended its rescue journey when it hit a patch of grass or mud and fell on its side.

The Standard reached out to the Twitter user for a comment, but had not received a response at the time of publication.
