A Montgomery County man left on his doorstep with a newborn is surprised by Super Bowl tickets.

This year’s Super Bowl will feature a special guest, a local resident whose incredible story was told as he tracked down his long-lost family, drawing attention from across the country. Now he’s heading to Phoenix.

90-year-old Jim Scott of Lafayette Hill was still in awe of the fact that he was going to compete in Super Bowl LVII. His family gave him a big congratulations at a party in Phoenix. Jim has been a Birds fan for over 60 years.

Jim Scott’s story was first told in December and about being left on his doorstep in Pittsburgh at the age of 12 days.

Jim’s eldest daughter, Maryland, spent years looking for members of his biological family and helping them reunite.

After hearing his story, the Eagles invited Jim to their last regular game of the season against the Giants.

“We were on the field. We met a few footballers,” Scott said. “They were all so sweet. Brandon told me he was reading a story. He was touched by this story and congratulated me.”

It was then that Jim was presented with two Super Bowl tickets courtesy of the NFL. “I was invited to this game. I didn’t know anything. I was so grateful for the opportunity to go to an Eagles game.

“It’s just a nice story and they heard about it and just wanted to be a part of it,” explained Jim’s daughter, Maryland Haig.

“The whole thing is incredible,” Jim added.

Maryland will accompany her father on the paid trip. “It will be amazing, I will always cherish the fact that my father and I do this together.”

“I didn’t actually travel. This is the first time,” Jim said.

A father or four, grandparents and great-grandparents have always loved football, playing in high school and college. His family says he so deserves the trip.

“Staying on the doorstep and having no idea what a family is, he was an absolute role model for us,” said Jim’s son, Jim Scott.

“I’m so happy that everything turned out the way it did. He’s so happy,” Maryland added.
