A man is mortally wounded near a bar on the southwest side

The police detained two men, one of whom, in their opinion, shot.

SAN ANTONIO — A man died after a shooting near a bar southwest of downtown late Sunday night.

Shortly before midnight, police were called to the scene on Frio City Road.

Officials say they currently have two people in their custody and think one of them may be the shooter, but they are not 100% sure.

The sergeant says that when they got to the Morales Ice House, they found that the man had been shot multiple times.

An ambulance tried to save the man’s life, but he died at the scene.

We are told that he is about 40 or 50 years old.

Police are telling us right now that they’re not entirely sure what could have led to the shooting, but they say the incident happened outside in the parking lot and spilled inside after the man was shot dead.

The bar also closed after the shooting took place.

No other injuries were reported.

This is not the first shooting there.

About a month ago, the police told us that two men had been shot dead after a bar fight.

We’ll be contacting TABC this morning to see if they’ll open an investigation into the bar.

This is an evolving story.
